 Indeed, it is Nantucket's geography that uniquely shaped its destiny. Isolated, insulated, and preserved, it is located 30 miles at sea from Hyannis on the southern coast of Cape Cod. 3.5 miles north to south and 14 miles east to west, Nantucket is an island, a county and a town - the only place in America with the same name for all three.
